1947年、アメリカ陸軍航空隊は陸軍より分離し、アメリカ空軍として独立した。これを機に制服のカラーもオリーブドラブから1949年に独自性を象徴するエアフォースブルーへと変更された。この色はB-15シリーズにも反映され、そして誕生したのがB-15Cである。前身モデルのB-15Bとの違いは、それまで右側にオフセットされていたジッパーが中央に移動され、ジッパー自体もグローブを着用しても開閉が容易になるよう大型化されたことと、酸素マスクのホースを固定するタブも革素材から極厚の杉綾織りナイロンテープに変更された。マリリン・モンローが朝鮮戦争において米兵を慰問した際に着用したのがB-15Cで、彼女の輝きはB-15Cの魅力をより一層引き立てた。

In 1947 the US Air Force (USAF) became independent from the US Army Air Forces (USAAF). On this occasion, the uniform color was changed from olive drab to Air Force blue that symbolized USAAF. The color reflected in the B-15 series, leading to the birth of the B-15C. The difference from its predecessor, B-15B, was that the zipper, which had been offset to the right, was moved to the center of body. The zipper itself was enlarged so that it could be opened and closed easily even when wearing gloves. The tabs for securing the oxygen mask hose were also updated from leather to thick nylon twill tape. Marilyn Monroe wore a B-15C when she entertained American troops during the Korean War, and her radiance made the B-15C more attractive.
