タイプN-3Bは、それまで採用されていたN-3Aのエアフォースブルーからセージグリーンへとボディーカラーが変わると同時にナイロン素材の組織自体も変更された。その他にもディテールに幾つかの改良点が見られ、袖口に付けられていたリブは外気をより遮断できるように袖口の内側に設置された。また、ウエストの外側に付いていたアジャスターコードは内側に移動され、フロントのウインドフラップは着席時でも窮屈にならないよう短く変更されている。

The color of the N-3B was changed to sage green from Air Force blue of its predecessor model, the N-3A. The layer of nylon twill was also modified from 3/1 weave to 2/2 weave.
